Driverless vehicles, drones and more demos in store at F3
It’s almost that time of year again. After a brief hiatus, the hottest FreightTech event of the season will return to FreightWaves’ stomping ground in Chattanooga, Tennessee, when the 2022 Future of Freight Festival, aka F3, kicks off next week.
This year’s F3 will run Nov. 1-3, and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever. The event will be based at the Chattanooga Convention Center, with interactive sponsor kiosks and a full three-day slate of thought-provoking speakers on tap.
However, we’d be remiss if we didn’t make the most out of downtown Chattanooga, the heart of Freight Alley. Guests will have plenty of opportunities to explore the city with exclusive parties, concerts, ax throwing, whiskey tasting and other VIP experiences along the banks of the Tennessee River.
We’re pumped, and you should be too! But that’s not the reason thousands of people will make the trip to Chattanooga.
Freight is what brings us together. And during F3, FreightWaves will host more than 50 live demos highlighting the latest solutions in trucking, air, ocean, rail, drones, driverless vehicles and everything in between.
Each company will have seven minutes to show off the latest and greatest supply chain solutions pushing our industry forward. You’ll see and hear from the biggest names in freight, including J.B. Hunt, Ryder, Turvo and a whole lot more. Here’s the full demo schedule:

New this year: Startup Alley
But there are even more companies to check out. This year, FreightWaves is excited to introduce Startup Alley, a new stage sponsored by 53 Venture that will feature some of the most disruptive young companies in freight.
Without giving too much away, here’s a sneak preview of the startups demonstrating at the Startup Alley stage on Day 2 of this year’s event:
FreightRoll: Based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, FreightRoll’s goal is simple — to keep freight rolling through your yard. The startup automates check-in and check-out at the gate to make chain-of-custody transfer a fully contactless experience for drivers.
Carrier Assure: Sloppy carriers beware — Carrier Assure is your watchdog. The Wilmington, Delaware-based company draws from hundreds of thousands of data points to give every carrier a one-number performance score and weed out the weak performers, so shippers can choose better options.
Maven Machines: A FreightWaves FreightTech 100 winner in 2021, Pittsburgh-based Maven Machines is automating every part of fleet management, from planning to dispatch to route optimization. Machine learning, AI, mobile cloud, Internet of Things — the startup uses them all to optimize productivity and performance.
TruckerCloud: This startup is all about data visibility. Based in Atlanta, TruckerCloud connects carriers with ELD providers through an application programming interface integration, giving fleet operators all the data they need on one screen.
HopTek: Another Atlanta-based company, HopTek is an offshoot of global logistics consultancy Kearney. The startup’s trio of products — Fleet Scanner, Freight Finder and Dispatch Engine — combine to unlock greater control and visibility of your fleet.
Worlds: Working with providers like Microsoft and Amazon Web Services, Dallas-based Worlds builds “4D Infrastructure” that models real-world supply chains in the metaverse. The startup’s AI uses real-time data to create a digital twin of physical operations, unlocking new ways to automate logistics processes.
All of these startups and more will be hosting demos on Nov. 2, so be sure to take a walk down Startup Alley.
