The importance of real-time visibility in supply chain management cannot be overstated, as it helps improve transparency, traceability, sustainability, and customer service. 77% of supply chain leaders say real-time visibility is a must-have—and yet, only 25% actually USE it.

Tive’s “The State of Visibility 2023” report—based on survey results from over 270 supply chain decision-makers—sheds light on this gap in adoption and usage and aims to help stakeholders identify the technologies needed to meet their requirements.

According to the report, only a quarter of respondents use trackers for real-time shipment visibility, while nearly half consider “visibility as a service” mandatory for most of their customers. Lack of visibility during transit was identified as a key issue, especially in road, ocean, and rail transportation. Overall, the findings reveal that real-time visibility solutions need to improve in terms of ease of use, consistency, and sustainability to bridge the gap and meet customer expectations.
