Fujifilm UK awards Miniclipper Logistics with three-year transport contract

Miniclipper Logistics has been awarded a three-year transport contract by Fujifilm UK.

The contract provides Fujifilm UK with a next day delivery service across the UK mainland for an average of 1,000 pallets a month.

It includes the carriage of everything from plates and inks to film with the proximity of Miniclipper’s Dunstable transport with Fuji’s Bedford warehouse one of the key reasons for it landing this lucrative contract.

Fuji has been able to push back its final stock pick cut off time to 6pm whilst still guaranteeing its customers a next day delivery service. Miniclipper stations double deck trailers permanently at Fuji’s Bedford warehouse with three going out each evening Monday to Friday.

One trailer is trunked to HazChem’s Hinckley central hub, one to Palletline’s Birmingham hub and the other goes back to Miniclipper’s transport hub in Dunstable from where it manages Fuji’s local and southern-based deliveries.

Paul Sloan, Fujifilm UK’s logistics manager said: “We are delighted to work with Miniclipper Logistics, based locally to our Bedford UK headquarters. Fujifilm UK has been proudly based in Bedfordshire since 1983 and the specialist skills and expertise offered by Miniclipper in the delivery of palletised print and graphics materials will enhance our business, whilst keeping our community values at the forefront of everything we do.

“Additionally, Miniclipper’s focus on sustainability aligns with Fujifilm’s global Sustainable Value Plan 2030, helping us to minimise our carbon footprint in logistics as we work towards our target of being net zero by 2040. We look forward to collaborating with the team at Miniclipper to enhance our services and minimise our impact on the planet,” he added.

“We are proud to have been appointed to manage Fujifilm’s UK freight requirements. The transition has gone very smoothly, and we look forward to supporting Fujifilm in its bid to further reduce its logistics carbon footprint,” said Peter Masters, Miniclipper Logistics’ MD.

Miniclipper continues to invest in its truck fleet to cater for the Fujifilm contract and ever-growing work volumes. It has taken delivery of five Volvo and three MAN 18-tonners, three MAN tractor units and one DAF 12-tonner in recent months. This investment not only helps reduce emissions and fuel use across the fleet but provides Miniclipper with access to a more diverse range of trucks and moves away from predominantly running just tractor units.

“We will continue to invest in our fleet and by bringing in new truck brands such as Volvo and DAF at different grow vehicle weights our fleet is more flexible to meet both the short and long-range transport needs of our customers,” explained Masters.
